The Thrill of the Chase: Motoring Events This Summer

Looking for a Fast and Furious day out?

Whether you are after a day out with the family, an opportunity to get glammed up with the girls, or feel the need for speed, We have rounded up the events for you.. You don’t need to be an expert or even a car enthusiast to enjoy these motorsports events this summer; with atmosphere in buckets, you will be entertained and enthralled right up to the finishing line.

Festival of Speed

Goodwood, 13th – 16th July 2023

If you thought track days were just for the guys, it’s time to think again. Head to Goodwood for this four-day event showcasing a heady mix of cars, stars and motorsport royalty. Rub shoulders with the likes of Jody Kidd, David Beckham, Nigel Mansell and Caitlyn Jenner. Dine in one of the restaurants or cafes, treat yourself to one of the hospitality options or grab a bite on the go, with the popup food stands offering a range of cuisines, from burgers to pizza, including several vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options available across the event.

The Festival of Speed is the largest event of its kind. It has something for the whole family—looking into technology and mobility, together with the planet’s rarest and most glamorous vehicles, while providing a glimpse into the future.  Held in the stunning grounds surrounding Goodwood House, the Festival of Speed is the summer garden party of the world’s most glamorous sport. Get up close and in person to these superb masterpieces and the legends who drive them.

“You see more motorsport in four days than you could see if you travelled the whole world with a Grand Prix team and watched all the Grands Prix. It’s more fun, it’s faster, and it’s better.”

Chris Evans

Tickets from £60 per person, kids go free.

Santa Pod, 20th August

The highlight is a display of Monster Truck action with bus jumps and freestyle action. Terry Grant, the world record-holding stunt driver, and other industry professionals will be in attendance.

Throughout the day, you can experience Monster Truck rides for yourself and enjoy the mini–Monster Truck Mania with a licenced bar, disco and funfair to keep you entertained.  The gates open on Saturday for those camping with more events scheduled. All in all, a great family day out.

Silverstone Festival

25th-27th August

For the August Bank Holiday weekend, head to Silverstone for an epic Festival; the whole family will be enthralled with historical motorsport, music, family activities and delicious food. With McFly and the Sugarbabes headlining the music stage, thousands of classic and modern cars on display, a free family funfair on all weekend and driving simulators to test your skills, the fun doesn’t end, especially if you decide on camping onsite.

Silverstone, the birthplace of the FIA Formula One World Championship, has its special place in F1 history and celebrates this both on and off track throughout the festival. The busy schedule of nostalgic and exciting races includes double-header showdowns for both sixties and seventies rear-engined F1 cars and the 75th Anniversary Trophy. If this wasn’t enough, there are daily circuit demonstrations for even faster Grand Prix cars from more recent eras.

Day tickets from £45 and Kids go free.
